Email automation marketeer

On-site

Marketing

Job description

As email automation marketeer at Knivesandtools you will be responsible for revenue generated by our email traffic. As such, you contribute to our thirteen web shops in six different languages, each with their own projects, goals and experiments. You’ll be a part of our Technical Marketing Team, and you’ll be responsible for our emails. You will be working with our specialists in the fields of CRO, SEA, SEO and others. It is a very versatile job that requires a lot of brainpower, creativity, analytical skills and the ability to quickly and commercially adapt your strategies.

In the past few years, our email flows have been stagnant, and it’s about time we start back up. We have a lot of historical data and content-rich emails at the ready, and we also have ideas on how we can make automated emails work for us.

What we offer

  • A crucial role within our online marketing team
  • Responsibility for our email strategy
  • State-of-the-art software and modern systems
  • The opportunity to work with high-quality products and a great target audience
  • Space to combine creativity and analytical skills
  • An ambitious company with a relaxed working environment and a group of young professionals
  • Competitive salary
  • Better coffee than the average trendy coffee shop

What you’ll be doing

You will be developing email marketing campaigns that you will test in clever and efficient ways. You are able to create data analyses of click and purchase behaviour and will use this as a measuring tool for the campaigns. You will then optimize the campaigns and make them run automatically. You do this in collaboration with our SEO/SEA specialists, business developers, content marketeers and category managers. This job combines email marketing, data marketing and retention marketing.

The content of our campaigns is of utmost importance to us: we want to inspire our customers, not bother them. The goal is for customers to appreciate their products and return to our shop. That’s why your work will be focused on developing and implementing a retention strategy.

In addition, you will make sure the newsletter process runs smoothly and optimize it when necessary by carrying out A/B tests, for example. When your colleague responsible for these newsletters is on holiday, you are expected to temporarily step in and take over.

Daily tasks include

  • Creating campaigns (and measuring results)
  • Setting up marketing automation (using SalesManago)
  • Sending out newsletters to our 200K+ subscribers
  • Creating content for our campaigns, including emails, in collaboration with our content marketeers
  • Analysing customer behaviour

Job requirements

Which skills do I need for this job?

You are a person who understands email marketing. You have experience in the field and you enjoy the challenge of trying to meet your targets. You’ve made the deliberate choice of working on the customer-end of things instead of the office-side: you know that quality is more important than speed, and that you get time and support to meet your targets. The ideal candidate will be a good fit for our team of young, open and ambitious people.

  • We are looking for an applicant capable of working and thinking at a level of Higher Vocational Education (HBO)
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in email marketing
  • You are familiar with Google Analytics
  • You are an analytical thinker and your work is data-driven
  • You are proficient in the English language

In addition to meeting the aforementioned requirements, you are also passionate about online marketing and retail. You are analytical with a commercial mindset, and you can see things from a customer perspective. It is important that you get a kick out of seeing the success of the campaigns you worked on. The perfect candidate for this position is motivated to become one of our most important marketeers. You consider it a fun opportunity to be able to shape your role within this company.
