A day at marketing

8:30 am

You arrive at work and start by grabbing yourself a delicious espresso or cappuccino. At the coffee machine, you already meet colleagues from our Purchasing Department. They tell you that they managed to snag that one new brand of cast-iron pans. That's something to keep in mind for the new Outdoor Cooking campaign.

9:00 am

You check your e-mail and Jira and see what is expected of you today. Time to quickly discuss the design of the Pocket Knives & Multi-tools category page with the Category Manager and SEO specialist.

9:30 am

Gather for a standup meeting with your team. Together, you discuss what you did yesterday, what you're planning to do today and if there are any problems you'll need to tackle. You check on the progress of the new Jack Wolf Knives product release. Is everything ready to go for Friday?

9:45 am

Just checking with Team Social how the video for that new product release turned out. Are the links okay? Great!

10:00 am

Time to get started writing the texts for the new Pocket Knives & Multi-tools category page. It's important to make sure all texts are engaging, and that the H1s and H2s are suitable for SEO purposes. It's a good time to update the Top 10 and then pass everything on to Translation with a clear briefing.

Noon

It's lunchtime! Are you having a cheese sandwich today? Or will you fry an egg? Healthy lunch burrito perhaps? In any case, there's soup for those who want some. Delicious! After lunch, get some fresh air and go for a walk with some people from other teams, or play a game of ping pong against the CEO.

1:00 pm

Another holiday is coming up, so you discuss the campaign's angle with a small team. What are the commercial goals? How did we do it last year? What are we doing in terms of communication this year?

3:00 pm

Time for the weekly bulletin board meeting. Today, the Technical Marketing department will present what they are working on to the rest of the company. This includes: new features for the wishlist, a fix for that one irritating bug and a new way to help customers compare products. Great developments!

4:00 pm

Binoculars are wonderful, but sometimes they can be quite complicated. That is why a supplier will be coming in today to give us product training. Together with colleagues from different departments, you will learn how to adjust binoculars correctly, and how to help a customer make the best choice. Very interesting! From the office windows you're even able to spot a green woodpecker in the trees surrounding the office.

5:00 pm

Time to call it a day! Whistling, you cycle home where you'll have plenty to talk about the cool things you did today over dinner.
